In the fourth quarter of 2022, Costa Rica saw interesting trends in the performance of its top social networking apps. Here’s a detailed look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced stable weekly revenue around $5 to $7. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at 29.9K in late October, and closing the quarter with approximately 24.7K. Active user counts remained steady, hovering around 3.3M to 3.4M throughout the quarter.

Facebook showed varied weekly revenue, with a peak of $1.6K in mid-October and a low of $822 in mid-November. Weekly downloads were generally stable, ranging between 18.4K to 23.2K. The active user base displayed consistent growth, rising from 3.3M to 3.4M by the end of December.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily did not generate revenue during this period. Weekly downloads decreased significantly from 9.4K in late September to around 2K by the end of December. However, weekly active users showed a positive trend, climbing from 53.9K to 63.2K.

Telegram Messenger saw its weekly revenue peak at $186 in mid-November. Downloads varied, reaching a high of 14.9K in mid-October and a low of 8.1K in mid-December. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 270K and 288K.

Messenger did not report any revenue. Weekly downloads ranged from 15K to 18.1K, showing slight fluctuations. The number of active users slightly declined over the quarter, from about 516K to 502K.
